BlackJack on Steroids?

Added: Jan. 20, 2014

Maybe so, just check out this latest news in the online gambling world. As you know, one of the most popular table games, both in online casinos and land-based casinos continues to be BlackJack. To satisfy the demand from online casino players to make their BlackJack gameplay even more exciting and thrilling, sone online casinos are going the extra mile and adding in new features.

For example, one variant on the standard BlackJack gameplay is the immensely popular online casino game called Blackjack Switch. This takeoff from the regular Blackjack game was patented by developer Geoff Hall back in 2009. Blackjack Switch differs in that the online casino player is automatically dealt two hands at the same time. After the cards are dealt, the player is allowed to switch the two top cards between his two hands.

After heeding the call for even more exciting Blackjack gameplay, developer Geoff Hall recently released an entirely new approach to Blackjack. He dubs his latest creation Zappit Blackjack.

Zappit Blackjack throws in some surprising twists for the savvy online casino player. Start with the fact that after your hands are dealt and if your hand value is 15, 16, or even 17, a magical Zappit Button pops up on your screen. At this point you have the option of pushing that button and making your current hand go away. You are then dealt an entirely new hand. Understand that this a choice on your part, the Zappit button is completely optional. As you will see, sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it doesn’t.

What’s the price to pay for pushing that magic Zappit Button? As you might expect, zapping your hand away does come with a price. That price works out this way; if the dealer actually deals himself a 22 he will not go bust. Instead, the bet will push through and your stake will be promptly returned to you. On the other hand, if you are dealt a Blackjack, this rule does not apply after all.

In this case, a Blackjack you win after hitting the Zappit button lowers your possible payout. Your reduced payout works out to be a 1 to 1 instead of the typical 3 for 2. But that’s about it. All the other rules are the same rules you will find at standard Blackjack games everywhere.

Bottom line is this: if you are any sort of Blackjack fan at all, you owe it to yourself to check out Zappit Blackjack.
